Have you ever hosted a lunch party for about four women? You know you want the table set just right; you want the food to be tasty, and you want to make the women feel extra special. Well, imagine doing that for 100 women! I love to host, and I love to give, so giving to that many women, in a spiritual and tangible way, made me burst at the seam! I’m so grateful to everyone who came out to my first Tea Time event and to all the amazing speakers who shared their stories and wisdom with the audience. It was such an amazing experience to be in a room filled with so many women. Every speaker bared her soul to the audience, and the vulnerability created such a powerful atmosphere. The energy lit up the room!
Now that I’ve taken time to relive the moments through pictures, daily texts, emails, and phone calls, the adrenaline has ceased, and I’m emotionally spent. Now it’s time to Rest. That’s a word that is foreign to me! Rest gives our mind, bodies, and souls time to renew, so we can start again with even more strength and focus.
“God had finished the work he had been doing…then he rested.” Genesis 2:2
I was on such an adrenaline high during the planning season until now I’m crashing. I know I must keep going, But, it’s important to rest & recharge my batteries a little bit! It’s so easy to get run-down, I feel like that has a lot to do with being a woman. We’re so used to being caregivers for our families and emotional caregivers in our personal relationships. As women, we go, go, go, until we’re so burnt out and the only option we have is to rest.
So, I’m going to take time out of my day today to just be. Be thankful, be present, be okay with not moving for even just a minute. I may be fully awake, but I refuse to get on the treadmill, put on a load of laundry or even listen to a podcast. I am just going to be still. I will never forget the stories I heard or the experiences that were shared at my Tea Time. I saw the impact on the faces and read the plethora of comments and I’ll carry that energy with me into the months to come. It is motivation for me to make an even greater impact on more women. I’m raising the bar in 2020, so please mark your calendar for June 27, 2020 and get ready for an even more wonderful event!

I didn’t get to attend the 1st one. Hopefully, I will be in attendance at the 2020 Tea Time.
