When Fear is Crippling

“Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28

The world is in an uproar over COVID-19. As Christians, we should view this pandemic through the lens of faith and not fear. I honestly believe this viral fear may be worse than the coronavirus itself. I believe that as saints we are indestructible until God says, “I’m ready to call you home to receive your just reward.” So, no matter what pestilences and diseases are on the horizon let’s not panic. Yes, we should take precautionary measures, use wisdom and practice good hygiene (as we should’ve been doing long before this virus).

We live in a fallen world and, in my opinion, this is a foretaste of what this world will be like after the rapture takes place: pandemonium, chaos and terror.

This disease has killed more than 4,700 people around the world, with new cases reported each week. This is absolutely heartbreaking and I’m praying for all of those affected by this. I’m also praying that people will realize their mortality and let this be an awakening! Jesus is so soon to come and we’re reminded in Hebrews “The day you hear my voice harden not your heart.” If an unbeliever succumbs to this disease, we know they will spend eternity separated from God. For the unbeliever this is most scary.

If there was any time to make sure you were right with God, now is the time.

As Christians, whether we live or die our lives are in God’s hands. Eternity is long and life is short. If you haven’t committed your life to Christ, do so now! We never know when it will be our turn.

Let’s pray in faith that the coronavirus, as well as other threats and diseases will be eradicated for good.

If you’ve never trusted Jesus as your personal Savior and you’d like to, pray this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you, Lord for saving me and for answering my prayer. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Now please get connected with a bible-believing church and grow in your faith walk. If you’re looking for a church home, I have one! If you’re in the Columbus Ohio area, consider visiting Destiny Ministries!

Praying for you and our nation.

The Word says that people’s hearts will fail them for fear (Luke 21:26). Let us walk in faith and not fear and be the peace that unbelievers are looking for in this difficult time.

This was so encouraging! I hope many people read this and reflect on the current state of their soul. Thank you for being a light in this time of darkness.

  4. 💞Amen First Lady. Indeed, fear is crippling.
This plague is yet another great opportunity to witness. When the population is at such a vulnerable point, it is easy to succumb to the perceived dread and doubt which allows minds to embrace fear over faith instead of the other way around. As believers, we already know it is easiest; a relief to not succumb, but to know, love and live out God’s word which tells us that no good thing will he withhold from those who do love him, that nothing shall offend us and that we have his covering. When we explain truth by God’s word, prayerfully the questioning, or the faithless or the nonbeliever will walk away with hope and a new life in Christ. Because those Crippled in fear do not Walk.

  5. Continued-
Only God can save, but we can do our part to remain calm and be righteously directed at this time that really brings all of us together across all social levels races, and economic levels. This plague can be the great equalizer. What was meant for evil, God works out for good.

  6. Awesome word!!!! So true thank you for keeping it 💯. Standing in agreement with you! Lord we pray for this nation we plead the blood onus disease they’re talkin about. Help us keep our mind stayed on you Lord Jesus!! No fear NO FEAR. THANK YOU FOR THIS WORD FIRST LADY!!!

  7. Such an on time word! We must let go of fear and become Best friends with Faith 💜

  8. I am not scared for I, LaRonda Felix, know that God is with me. I am not stressed or scared. I am not even worried. Gods got me. He is mine, I am his. I’d rather pray than worry. I Trust God.

  9. Scripture is coming to fruition right before our eyes. Thank you so much for these words..: God has not given us a spirit of fear and his words remain true💗

  10. This is exactly what I would say
And God say’s; in 2 Chronicles 7: 14 (NIV) emphasis added. “If my people, who are called by my name (Yeshua in Hebrew/Jesus in English/Hesus in Tagalog), will humble themselves and pray and seek my face (God) and turn from their wicked ways, then I (God) will hear from heaven, and I (God) forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

As a people living in this universe, we should come in one agreement to seek God face the same as the nation cooperate in covid-19. If we do this, surely God will hear from heaven and heal our land. I’m not just talking USA, but the whole World the Universe. Also we need to pray for all the leaders all over the world, Governments, Churches, Pastors, to become one. No more individual or Non-denaminations but one in God. JUST IMAGINE THE WHOLE WORLD (UNIVERSE) COME TO AGREEMENT IN GOD WHAT DO YOU THINK GOD WILL DO? I leave that a question mark.

  11. A very timely message of encouragement for today! I am encouraged to live not in fear but in faith! God bless you and thank you again. Awesome!

  12. Amen sis! God has prepared us followers of Christ for such a time as this. We should spread the hope of Christ to others and pray for those who are stricken with this illness.

  13. This word is on time and true. We are entering the season of perilous times and this virus is illuminating our weak areas as believers. We must be the example of faith and trust in God so that others are reassured and drawn to him. Thank you for posting a reminder -gently nudging us back to our calm in the storm.

Great advice. Let’s pray that people will open their ears and recognize the reality that death is inevitable and they should be making plans on where they will spend eternity. The corona virus is scary but it doesn’t compare with spending eternity in Hell.

  15. It’s always refreshing to here God’s inspired word through those willing to serve & lead
as his vessels … I always feel empowered in knowing that I’m standing in and on my faith in God with my sisters and brothers in Christ… Your blog is needed in today’s world and is helping in fulfilling the “Great Commission” given by Jesus Christ to all Believers…

    Matthew 28: 18-20
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

    By grace,
    Sis Veronica
